Install The Model on your phone

It's a small app that carries the whole read inside it, so it works anywhere, with no internet. It isn't in the Play Store, so Android asks you to allow it once.

Step by step

  1. Tap Download the app and sign in. The file the-model.apk downloads (about 3 MB).
  2. Open it. Tap the "Download complete" notification, or open the Files app → Downloads → the-model.apk.
  3. Allow the install. Android says it can't install apps from this source. Tap Settings, switch on Allow from this source for the app you downloaded with (Chrome, Samsung Internet, Files), then tap back.
  4. Tap Install. If Google Play Protect shows "Unsafe app blocked" or "Unknown app", tap More details → Install anyway. It only means the app isn't from the Play Store.
  5. Tap Open. You'll see the map of chapters. Tap Begin. Swipe left or right to turn chapters; Back returns to the map.

Good to know

  1. Updating: download and install again over the top. Your place and read marks are kept.
  2. Can't find the file? In Chrome, tap ⋮ → Downloads. On Samsung, open My Files → Downloads.
  3. iPhone: no app yet. Open Read it in Safari, tap Share → Add to Home Screen.
